Ninth Circuit Rules Abortion More Important than Women’s Lives
Source: National Review Online
This week the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals struck down Arizona’s law prohibiting abortion at or after 20 weeks of pregnancy – a law that was based on uncontroverted medical evidence that abortion’s risks to maternal health increase dramatically at 20 weeks gestation...But these data did not matter to the three-judge panel in Isaacson. That panel strictly applied the “viability” rule stemming from Roe v. Wade, claiming that no state can prohibit abortion before viability (around 23 to 24 weeks), regardless of whether later-term abortion substantially increases the mother’s risk of death. more...
IRS Morality: Defend Planned Parenthood, Deluge Adoptive Families with Audits
Source: National Review Online
My wife and I got audited in 2011, with the IRS examining every inch of our adoption the previous year. The process was painful, but we got through it, and our refund may have been adjusted by a few dollars (the amount of the adjustment was so small, I don’t actually remember). In other words, the audit was a gigantic waste of time — for the IRS and for our family. As we get word that the IRS has harassed a number of pro-life groups, including at least one alleged demand that a pro-life group not picket Planned Parenthood, check out this statistic: In 2012, the IRS requested additional information from 90 percent of returns claiming the adoption tax credit and went on to actually audit 69 percent... more...
Federal judge reinstates Christian college’s lawsuit over HHS mandate
A federal judge has reinstated a Christian college's lawsuit against the Obama administration over the HHS mandate. Geneva College sued the administration over the mandate, which would require the institution to pay for contraception, sterilization, and abortion-inducing drugs for its female employees. U.S. District Judge Joy Flowers Conti said the case may now move forward, as the college must determine what to do about its health care plan in the face of pending regulations that will go into effect on August 1. more...

Testimony of Jill L. Stanek on HR 1797, Pain-Capable unborn child protection act
Source: Life Legal Defense Foundation
Life Talk co-host Nurse Jill Stanek testifies at today’s Congressional hearing to lend her support to a bill brought by Rep. Trent Franks (R., Ariz.) that would federally ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. Stanek lends her professional expertise to Frank’s request that the House enact the ban to protect babies from excruciating pain they feel during abortions. Stanek was a registered nurse in the Labor & Delivery Department at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, IL, who fought against abortions being performed there and exposed that babies aborted alive at Christ were left to die without medical care. Terminated for her pro-life activities, Stanek’s family has also been harassed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation because of their constitutionally protected advocacy. more...

Time to acknowledge the connection between abortion and later preterm birth
Source: News Observer.com
Preterm birth is one of our most challenging public health issues. It is the major cause for infant death in North Carolina and a key reason we rank among the top 10 states in infant mortality. Senate Bill 132 requires that the state’s health curriculum teach preventable causes of preterm birth including induced abortion, smoking, alcohol consumption, illicit drug use and poor prenatal care. Opponents of SB132 say its purpose is to promote a nonscientific, pro-life agenda in public schools. This is a misrepresentation of the indisputable evidence demonstrating that a prior abortion increases a woman’s risk for future preterm birth.
Gosnell: Doing Massive Harm
Source: Huffington Post
NARAL, a political action group that fights any restrictions on abortion, declared at the convictions that "Justice was served to Kermit Gosnell today and he will pay the price for the atrocities he committed." That's nice distancing from the notorious abortionist by a group that promotes abortion as far as possible and opposes any government restrictions on them. NARAL added, "We hope that the lessons of the trial do not fade with the verdict." There are lots of lessons to be learned from Gosnell, though they may not be what NARAL intended. more...
Late-Term Abortion Doc, Pro-Infanticide Prof Head Women’s Health Conference
Women Deliver, a global conference on maternal health, has tapped pro-infanticide philosopher Peter Singer and partial-birth abortionist LeRoy Carhart to train family planning advocates. While the conference purports to address health needs of poor women and an “unmet need” for contraception, many sessions promote unregulated abortion up to birth... Yet the speakers and workshops at Women Deliver advocate practices — like unlimited abortion — that will increase maternal and newborn deaths,” said Wendy Wright, C-FAM’s Vice President for Government Relations and Communications. more...
How Can Obama, Planned Parenthood Defend Abortion After Gosnell’s Infanticides?
Here we are, in the month of May, when everyone joyfully celebrates Mothers Day, and we Catholics particularly remember our Blessed Mother Mary. It is Springtime, when God’s creation is bursting forth in all its beauty and fertility. All around us, we are reminded that our lives are a gift, ultimately from God, but also from our human mother and our human father. And we are grateful for this gift. But anyone who picks up the morning newspaper, or turns on the television, can’t help but be deeply troubled by the condition of our culture, particularly how we treat the gift of life. more...
Unreported abortions cover up sexual crimes
Source: One News Now
Abortion clinics are still not reporting sexual predators who impregnate underage girls and then take them to receive abortions, reports the pro-life group Life Dynamics. In Everson, Washington, a 31-year-old man has received a prison sentence for impregnating a 14-year-old girl and taking her to a Planned Parenthood clinic for an abortion. Six weeks later the girl informed the police. Life Dynamics conducted an undercover phone investigation of abortion clinics that demonstrated that 91 percent are willing to provide the abortion and not report the crime. Mark Crutcher, founder of Life Dynamics, says this is criminal offense that is widespread and needs to end.

Mark Crutcher of Life Dynamics, Inc. appeared on “Focal Point” with Bryan Fischer on the AFR Talk Radio Network on Friday May 17th to say the nightmarish testimony of the last few months is only the tip of the iceberg. More revelations like those made about Kermit Gosnell and Douglas Karpen will soon come to light, because abortion workers are beginning to “panic” that participating in infanticide could land them in jail, according to a veteran pro-life activist. more...

The response to the DVD has been tremendous so far.
