Polls show that this is a time of unprecedented opportunity for the pro-life movement. The public is
having profound second thoughts about abortion and more people are labeling themselves pro-life than
at any other point in our history. Better yet, this trend is especially strong among the young-and
it's growing.
Meanwhile, our opposition is having a much more difficult time selling their agenda, and we are even
starting to see a few cracks in the media's and Democratic Party's support for abortion. Also, the
number of abortion clinics in America has plummeted. From a high of more than 2000 in the early 1990s,
there are only about 750 remaining today with the result being a significant drop in the number of
children killed.
However, this is not a time to relax. This is the time to educate the new people coming into our movement
and re-educate our veterans. The pro-life struggle is a grass-roots campaign that will be won by people
talking to their friends, relatives, co-workers and neighbors. So our people have to be knowledgeable,
uncompromising and consistent. In other words, each of us has to stay... on message.
