The following quoted post got me to ruminating.

The internet is "serious business."
If you are young and have kept yourself relatively free of responsibility, all your actions, thoughts and behaviors will reflect that fact. The reality that one person experiences between their ears has nothing whatsoever to do with someone else's reality. This extends to the online aspects of your lives as well.
Some contend that the internet should be likened to a video game and is never to be taken seriously and only a fool would think to do so. Perhaps this is more true for young and immature people but not so much for adults.
We adults, we are compelled to take many things seriously as the consequences of not doing so can be down right disastrous. The list of adult responsibilities is long.. and the dangers numerous. For this reason, adults tend to have a more serious and generally longer viewed outlook on things in general.
The internet is both a place of idiotic tomfoolery and at the same time a very serious tool that can be use for many serious purposes. It's all in what you care to bring to it. If you want to act like an idiotic low life jackass.. then that's your prerogative.
Personally, I have many serious uses for the internet. I trade commodities online, I manage all my personal finances online, additionally, my work is partially dependent on web based marketing, I am able to manage construction jobs better with the use of real time radar images and email is the primary medium I use to submit work proposals. These are all very serious uses for the internet.
My participation in this forum (and others) is no different. The subject of this forum literally concerns actual matters of life and death. Few subjects rise to this level of seriousness. Yet, jackasses roam freely and post here with the express purpose of devaluing the importance of this forum's mission.
Abortion in America is a very serious business indeed.
I was thinking that Dr. Tiller must have came to the full realization of just how serious of a business abortion in America really is.. those last precious moments just prior to when the lights went out.

Nope.
These sites exist for entertainment purposes ONLY, and nobody in the real world cares about the content.

Or does defending baby killers give you the only real sense of human contact in your otherwise mundane day and relatively unimportant life?

Excuse me?
I went out into the REAL WORLD to campaign for my candidate and raise huge heaps of money toward that end. My agenda was realized.
Nobody besides the two dozen people who fart arund on this board care what goes on here, and none of the rational people on this board take it seriously.

Hon, I have actual human contact in my lfe.
You're too obnoxious to establish and maintain cyber-relationships, much less real-life ones.

It's an unmoderated forum. What can you expect? There will be kooky and nasty posters who call people scancs and whores and who say that abortion is illegal, or that knocking off abortionists is a good thing. Things won't change unless the board owner wants it to.

I view the Webs like a shopping mall. You can find anything from a dodgy rude toys shop to a Christian book shop to a joke shop to a Bank. You behave yourself accordingly in each shop. You wouldn't wear a strap on into a Christian shop unless you were a manic or a couple of sandwiches short of a picnic.
However, there's enough sorrow and kill joys in the world, enough death and enough times to be serious, sometimes being a bit of a fool helps everyone. I view this forum in that way, I'll be serious (well, serious for me) in some topics, and a complete loon in others.

Haha, he doesn't get it. I do serious things on the internet as well, but I've never posted a butthurt topic. "The internet is serious business" is a meme, stupid. It is intended to be semi sarcastic, a dig at people who get bent out of shape about what others present in the various arenas we participate in online. Especially on chat forums and message boards, you'll hear literally anything conceivable.
And for the record, I'm a helluva lot older than the internet, but I still enjoy my lulz, and I get a lot from folks just like you. I've been around long enough that I'm completely desensitized to the games people play online. You, on the other hand, strike me as a noob.
The thread made my day? Thanks! Successful troll, etc.

FYI, we're always saving screenies of especially lulzy threads from this forum, especially the really "serious" rants and butthurt. We get together and share the lulz with others in other forums. You're famous, lefty, and so is f***boy. We think you guys are hilarious!

I agree with you one hundred percent. Your recognition of the importance of this issue is laudable, especially as displayed in such insightful threads as "The Magic Vagina" where your sensitivity and maturity really shone through. Bravo, leftsnemesis. Bravo!

Thank you for making my point about posters who come here with the express purpose of devaluing the importance of this forum's mission.
Your response indicates that you failed to read my post thoroughly enough to understand that I did, in fact, catch the sarcasm in your post and when you failed to realize that, you called me stupid.. lulz. Also, thank you for being so open about your trollish tendencies. Nothing like an honest troll, I always say.
Apparently you have engaged in pissing matches on the internet for so long that you have perfected a posturing position that makes you nearly immune to being butthurt or even being accused of being butthurt. You sir are un-butthurtable and this is an important thing for you. Good on you I say. What you've traded for this immunity is apparently.. nothing.. as you don't care if anyone takes you seriously or not and, knowing that, I willingly join you.
I am not a noob to online forums but then again this is the only unmoderated site that I visit. However, I am and shall proudly remain a noob to the art of purposeful and gleeful butthurting. Your time is your time and what you chose to do with it is of no concern to me. Butthurt away Captian. Boldly butthurt where no man has butthurted before.. you aged butthurter you.

People, such as yourself, who are willing to sacrifice their time for such important work can only be marveled at. Thank you for your sacrifice. Then again I suppose it helps you to pass time between star systems. lulz

Captain's log, Star date: 02042010. Today "we" captured text from a superior sentient being which we have stored in our fake archive and will be publishing in our imaginary forum for all my invisible crew mates to share and marvel at. We must be careful, however, as we don't want Star Fleet Command to discover how much time we've been using jacking around on the spacenet while on duty.
~ Captain's log - Supplemental
I'm putting in for some R&R on Rigel 7 as Bones informs me that I've been spending so much time jerking around on-line that I'm showing some disturbing signs of having come down with an advanced form of SGS, (space gayness syndrome). He tells me that I really could use some time in a real world around real people for a change.

Argern, I'm kind of new around here so I don't rememeber you from before and I was wondering, can you tell me more about yourself. It's interesting, the avatar you've selected appears to represent an older woman with gray hair but your writing style and word choices suggest that you are a young man. What can you share with me about yourself? For example, I'd like to know, where do you hail from? Where do you work? What is your phone number? What is your exact address? What is your social security number? Where do you keep your money? What medical problems do you have? Any psychiatric issues? Did you get beat up a lot in school? How long did you Mom have to keep a rubber mattress cover on your bed? How many of your acquaintances have you betrayed? What does feces taste like? Have you ever been locked up? Are you locked up now? Are you really a woman or are you a man dressed as a woman? Have you ever been chocked unconscious by your gay lover? Have you ever ate human flesh or drank human blood? How often do you rape children?

So.. you don't see the connection between my aggressive efforts against obstreperous baby-killer-lovers who's only purpose is to aggitate.. and the degree of seriousness with which I regard this forum's mission?
That's OK Spinny. I'm not disappointed. In fact, I actually appreciate the fact that you re-publishing proof positive of my intensity when it comes to trolls who seek to disrupt this forum. I would ask you these same questions Spinny.
How about you Spinny,.. have you ever participated in the death of a child/ZEF?
If so, did it happen during a stampede?

Asking people if they eat s**t and rape children is your serious effort to defend this forum's "mission?"

Your agenda is in more trouble than you realize lefty. The liberal left has had it's day and failed. It's straight down hill for all things liberal for a very long time to come.
Can you or anyone else tell me if you yourself have ever been involved in the termination of a human life? Have you had any of your pregnancies aborted? Inquiring minds want to know.
