Anyone taking wagers on how the healthcare vote will go tomorrow?

Seriously, I've been on everything from FreeRepublic to Democratic Underground and nobody is confident either way.

I'm going to say no.

Or my second bet would be there'd be stop in the process for the moment to add amendments of some description.

I am feeling pessimistic and inclined to think the bad guys will once again get their way, so I will say that it will pass, though I wonder if that will be the end and if something can be done in the Senate to stop it.

I will be kind to you, as I lived through 8 years of the bush administration.

I find that the theobromines in chocoate help considerably...

Oh wow, what a coincidence. I was actually eating a sugar-free chocolate Tasty-Kake while reading your post, and I DO feel a little better...though that might be some kind of artifical sweetener high, and I'll come crashing down and feel even more pessimistic, and even worse if Pelosi wins again.

I have sworn off sweets except for the occassional sugar-free treat.

The only thing that does anything for me is my daily favorite expresso drink--an Americano (and the girl in tight jeans who works the stand).

Implying that people who want this bill to pass are "bad..."

Implying that some are.

And the rottenest egg of all is Nancy Pelosi.

I wish I could be charitble and think of her as an imbecile, but I think she's an evil witch.

I could have said, "implying that people who want this bill scrubbed are good..." There are certainly people who oppose this bill for questionable reasons. Obviously the insurance companies don't like the idea of ethical concerns interfering with profits, and they oppose the proposed regulations that would effect them and their ability to maximize profits without concern for ethics and such. I'd say that, if the bill doesn't pass, a lot of "bad" people will have "gotten their way."

Can you give me something concrete as to why you support this bill.

What specifically will the insurance companies be faced with regarding ethics?

What are they doing now that is unethical?

Some might not consider it "unethical," but the most obvious things to me would be the way they figure who's a "risk" and dropping people who become ill.

Can you give me something "concrete" and "specific" to explain why proponents of this bill are "the bad guys?"

Heroin?

A "hillbilly" who came from a family of attorenys?

Never heard about the "erectile dysfunction" but that's one of those things I would consider TMI about ANYONE.
